Operating Procedures 2022-2023
Perryton Special Education SSA proudly facilitates special education services in six Texas Panhandle school districts-Spearman, Perryton, Booker, Darrouzett, Lefors, and Follett. The SSA currently employs ten people, quality professionals who bring a wide variety of skills and experiences to the Shared Services Agreement.
Perryton Special Education SSA coordinates efforts with the SSA school districts to identify and serve students with disabilities ages 3-21, according to the procedures established by state and federal law.
Some fo the services provided/contracted include speech, occupational and physical therapy, as well as assessment and educational support. Perryton Special Education SSA also contracts to provide vision therapy and otientation and mobility and support the needs of students identified as deaf or hard of hearing (DHH).
Special Education instruction and related services are provided to students who have the following conditions according to state and federal criteria:
- Deaf/Blind
- Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Autism
- Emotional Disturbance
- Specific Learning Disabilities
- Other Health Impairment
- Orthopedic Impairment
- Intellectual Disability
- Speech Impairment
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Visual Impairment
