Board of Trustees Names Lone Finalist in Superintendent Search

After a Special Board Meeting on June 22nd, 2023, the Perryton ISD Board of Trustees named Greg Brown as the Lone Finalist for Superintendent. After a 21-day waiting period, Brown will begin his service as the Superintendent.

Brown comes to Perryton from Claude, TX where he served as the Superintendent for the previous two years. Prior to his experience in Claude, Brown was an educator in Plainview ISD for 29 years. Throughout his career in education, he has acted as a choir director, assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent. As assistant superintendent at Plainview ISD for 8 years, Brown led the executive team and oversaw all district operations.

Mr. Brown is leaving Claude ISD, previously recognized as a Blue Ribbon School and graded an “A” district. Brown said his priority in Claude was, “maintaining high achievement, ensuring student safety, and establishing a supportive and productive culture.” His focus will remain constant as he transitions into his new role with Perryton ISD.

He has been married to his wife Jill of 32 years. They have 2 sons who reside in Canyon and Lubbock. The Browns enjoy taking trips, creating relationships in their community, and spending time with family.

He looks forward to a great year and continuing to move Perryton ISD in the right direction. “I’m very excited for the opportunity to become a part of the Perryton community. Perryton ISD is an outstanding district that is doing really great things for kids and it’s a privilege to join the team that will keep the good work going. I can’t wait to cheer for the Rangers and Rangerettes!”
